10 Important Tips For Homeschooling

First, of all, remember that the first grade of homeschooling is actually the doorway for the child when entering the education system. Thus, It better should be a very positive experience because this one is going to affect him for the rest of his meaningful life. If this is so, he will learn to enjoy & love learning and schooling in this first grade of his, then he will probably be able to enjoy the rest of his learning school years.
Second, the decision to go homeschooling you’re self, is first of all a major responsibility on your end, so it is important not to make it a stressful or panic experience. This is going to be the most important time in your child’s life , so one must
make sure he or she (the parents) are actually capable and prepared for this. The homeschooling years should be as fun and relaxing as it can, so your children are able to learn every thing they actually need, in the best way and approach as you can get for them.
Third, let him feel important. In fact, make this a very important, top priority function of the whole family. Do that while emphasising that the first year of home school grade is very very important. Illustrate it using small and simple methods like if you are letting your child to sit beside you when you are reading for him, no matter of his age. You can buy him a “special home school pencil” (or crayons…), that are allowed to be used, only when doing school works.
Forth, create an excitement and somethings to look forward to . For example by not allowing the preschoolers of your family to do any of the first grade workbooks. This is simply because they see that the older children are doing it and it also looks like so much fun to them, that by you making it a special part, kept only for the ones that are starting their first grade, and only they get to do it.
Later on when it’s time for them to go on first grade as well, this will be a new exiting and a very expected thing to do form their point of view. Its good to play learning games, words and letters games… best is to Include lots of pre-school
activities. Only remember not to let playing, distracting them form actual studies. Its important to keep a good balance between playing times and working times.
Bare in mined that sometimes, working can get too heavy and that may cause you’re child ending up with not liking school as much as you hope, and he may get grumpy about important things like making the school work or by this, making your
job as a homeschool teacher, harder. This might lead to learning almost nothing. But when things are balanced, together along with the playing side, it will never get too heavy, and the children will learns well.
Fifth, It is important to teach your children to finish their school work as expected from them and on a set of times you have defined for it. It is of an importance that you expect your child’s work and that your child will know that this is what is expected of him. It should be kept as a frame of mind and by using the balance between play time and & work tome, even work time can be very pleasant and feels more like playing.
Sixth, focusing on reading serves as the base for his entire education to rely on. This is the most important skill for a child to learn when on first grade. This will prepare him (or her) for all the rest of their homeschool years to come. Center
your first grade of homeschool curriculum around the reading program is suggested for all parents of homeschoolers. Other subjects of importance are also in place, but language and phonics, writing and
spelling, should be incorporated in that first year reading programs you use.
An extra good tip is to combine history lessons into the “story time” which is an important part of
the reading programs.
Seventh, It’s good to choose a good and proper math course, out of the variety, something that you can continue and build through each grade and homeschooling curriculum’s.
Eighth, drawing, coloring, art studies etc.. these are all improving the coordination of eyes & hands. this of course effect the skills of lope writing & reading.
Ninth, home school students of the first grades, don’t really have a long attention span. There for out through the day, you better alternate between reading and writing, to the studies of math for example, so that the child doesn’t get tired of
learning one subject.
And the final tenth tip, is to remember that first year of schooling usually takes allot more of your time than the other years to come, and if you lay the proper foundations during that first grade curriculum of home school, then your child is probably able to take himself through his lessons in the rest of his homeschool years.
